We'll have more details , pics, and other impressions shortly.
And that's a wrap. Thanks all for tuning in to the live blog.
Thanks everyone for watching!
OK, more hands-on time. Let's go!
Woodward says it's your turn to experience the best phone ever made. He walks off to music.
HTC made metal mobiles a big deal (who remembers the HTC Legend?). I wasn't thrilled with last year's plastic efforts, but the company knows its way around a forge. Here's hoping that metal casing doesn't scratch...

It will come in black or silver (white)

The new HTC One will begin shipping in late March
This is HTC's largest rollout ever, he says
(I'm sure other handset vendors would disagree)
Woodward: This is the best phone ever made
Mike Woodward, HTC's Americas President, on stage now
The phone's design looks clean and sleek...it's a shame that the carriers will plaster their logos on it(not in India though).

OK you've seen it here folks. Phones have officially become jewelry...just like William Gibson predicted.
Typically, metal bodies and antennas don't mix. But HTC found a workaround.

Note, Apple 's iPhone 5 has an aluminum body too, although there are strips of glass on the top and bottom where the antennas go
Whoa, a nano matrix structure? What's that then?
HTC touts it as "zero-gap construction."
This is how the HTC One is made

HTC One has an all aluminum design...the antenna is built into the aluminum body
Oh yeah, an all metal design. I can so dig that.

The HTC One has a true purity of design, he says
Becker says HTC has always been "bold."
Now on to the actual design of the One

Becker talking about the photo editor. You can scroll through Zoe to find best shot.
Becker says he uses the camera knowing there's a story the phone will create for him
Built-in image editing was one of the few features I liked with BlackBerry's Z10. Will be very interesting to see how comprehensive HTC's Zoe offering proves to be
HTC says you can create the tone by selecting different themes. You can change things around by hitting remix.

BlackBerry launched its own Story Maker app that does something similar, but you have to manually edit and create the videos.
The One takes the Zoe photos and movies and creates its own highlight videos. The user doesn't have to do anything.
Zoe captures one second before the shutter is pressed, then three more seconds, for a short 4-second video

You capture a window of time, Becker says
Here comes HTC Zoe, which automatically captures high-res photos and short videos at the same time.

Ultrapixel camera beats rival camera phones with 8MP or higher, he says

When a phone can reliably shoot party pics in low light, then I'll believe this
It's interesting that HTC and Nokia are both attacking the same low-light photo problem, but in different ways.
So Ultrapixel is a custom HTC technology. It gets more light than traditional sensors, which means better low-light photos.
"The era of the megapixel is over," Becker says
Cue the promotional video talking about why megapixels don't matter. HTC does have a point though.
British phone fans, the HTC One will go on sale on 15 March in the UK, available on all networks

HTC has been putting really great cameras in its phones for a while now. Can't wait to see the One's camera in action.
It starts with a new approach about camera technology. Becker argues it's not about megapixel count, but pixel size. Here comes Ultrapixel
The Sense UI sets HTC apart from other Android phone vendors; how the UI reboot could change things

Becker says he saw an opportunity to shake things up with the camera experience.
The new HTC One makes the camera experience better, Becker says
Becker talks about last year's camera advancements

Sense TV makes it easier to find shows and control the living room, Becker says
Oh wow, it has an IR blaster to act as a remote!

HTC One integrates infrared on to the phone, which allows it to act like a remote control
Noise-cancellation isn't enough anymore, he says. The One can dynamically adjust the speakers, volume, and amplifiers for better call quality.
I dig this high quality recording though...reporters are going to love that

Peter Chou in London, talking about the HTC One

Oh boy, BoomSound is going to make my subway commute a lot more painful

HTC has designed a new music player than can launch a visualizer that pulls lyrics and displays them in time with the music.
Using front-facing stereo speakers "makes sense," Becker says. It's designed for when you're watching videos on the phone. It gives you clearer sound than ever before, he says

BoomSound? That's an unfortunate name. Sounds like a boombox or something!
With the HTC One, the company is introducing "BoomSound."

He concedes the speaker experience in the past has been awful

HTC now talking about the front-facing speakers
So the BlinkFeed is very much like Flipboard or other news aggregators...but with curated content.
The new HTC Sense UI reimagines the smartphone, Becker says
You can easily add or remove topics or areas of interest right from the main screen, he says
When you're in an elevator, waiting in line, or waiting for a friend, it's something you can look at. You can choose the type of content you get

Becker is here to talk about BlinkFeed. He says it turns the home screen into an integrated live feed.
HTC design lead Jonah Becker on stage
BlinkFeed helps make the ESPN brand borderless, and gets its content to people on their phones. Erhardt says it's a great beginning of a partnership with HTC
Erhardt references Jerry Buss, the Laker owner who sadly passed away this weekend, as an example of big stories that show up on BlinkFeed

ESPN tries to serve audience wherever they get it. The relationship we developed with HTC speaks to that, he says.
Ed Erhardt, president of global customer marketing and sales for ESPN, on stage
ESPN was a natural fit to be a leading partner for BlinkFeed, MacKenzie says
