The much awaited Google Nexus 7 tablet is here. Asus representative confirmed to Know Your Mobile that the quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 and Android 4.1 powered tablet will go on sale from tomorrow for Rs 19,999. We also spotted the tablet on online retailer, Chroma for Rs 19,981.
The impressive Nexus 7 was announced at Google I/O conference this year. Boasting of IPS technology infused display with 1280x800 HD resolution, this highly portable device quickly made its way to consumer hearts and among the top selling tablets around the globe. In fact the company is aiming at selling 6-8 million tablets this year, given the impressive specs we won't be surprised.
The device also brings on board a 1GB RAM, front facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Near Field Communications and 9 hours of video playback and 300 hours of standby time on a full charge.
The device recently received a minor update Android 4.1.2, which is a update on top of 4.1.1. The latest update brings landscape support among new additions, enhanced performance and bug fixes. Google's Jean-Baptiste M. “JBQ” Queru, Technical Lead, Android Open Source Project encourages update to 4.1.2 at the first opportunity as the future variants of 'the grouper hardware will have a minor change in one of the components (the power management chip) that will not be compatible with 4.1.1.'
With the arrival of Nexus 7 in India, the budget tablet dynamics is set to change. Will Nexus 7 sway the budget buyers and dominate the budget tablet maker? We will soon find out.
Stay tuned for the Nexus 7 review coming up this week.
