Datawind launched its Ubislate 7Cz earlier this year with a price tag of ₹5,799 but, it seems that before that particular model hits the market on a large scale, Datawind has had a change of heart and has already upgraded the 7Cz by adding in some hardware upgrades.
The original Ubislate 7Cz had Android Ice Cream Sandwich, 4GB internal storage, and 512MB RAM. In contrast the new and improved Ubislate 7Cz comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, 8GB of internal storage and 1GB RAM. The rest of the specifications are the same in the improved version viz: 7-inch screen with 800 x 480p display resolution, 1.2GHz processor, 2-megapixel rear camera and a front VGA one, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and microSD card slot.

Design:

Datawind Ubislate full review, Datawind Ubislate price, should i buy Ubislate tablet, ubislate 7CZ reviewThe Ubislate 7CZ comes with a 7 inch LCD screen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. It's not the lightest of the tablets we've seen, but it justifies it's price. Coming to the right hand side of the tablet(when held in landscape mode), you'll find 2 microphones, a mini HDMI port, a back button, the USB port, the 3.5mm earphone jack and the power button which is also used to unlock the device. Just below these, you'll find the Micro SD slot and the SIM Card slot hidden behind a door. It has round edges and it feels more comfortable and portable while using with both hands. It cannot fit into our jeans and trouser pockets. The battery is in built and is not removable. Just beside the screen on the left, you'll find the earpiece and on the right, there's the secondary VGA camera. Going behind, you'll find the 2MP camera and the speaker along with several brand stickers. There's also a reset button which is used to reset the tab if you find something isn't working. Although you need a needle to press the reset button. Unfortunately, there is no volume rocker.

The UI is mot different from any other low range tablets, but the smoothness is much better than the other tablets you'll find in this price range.

The Ubislate 7CZ  comes loaded with a massive 3200 mAh battery that fits best with this device. Our tests showed that it easily survived for a day during cases of moderate social media updates, emailing, browsing on 3G and listening to music. It also lasted for about 5 hours with a 1080p videos being played in loop.

The touchscreen is very responsive, much better than the tablets which are priced under 12k. About multitasking, you don't need to worry about it. It can handle a few apps at the same time with ease. Games like Dead Trigger and Temple Run 2 ran well on high graphics.

Camera:
The 2 MP camera isn't that great. The colors in the images taken seemed to be washed out. The front camera was good for video chatting with skype though. Also, the quality if the 720p video recording isn't great. This is the only con of this tablet, but what else can you expect in this low priced tablet.
