The mobile market is developing fast as operating systems and hardware keep shifting worldwide. We’re talking about trends that are starting to become vital to the gaming industry. Is the Android one step ahead of the iPhone? It looks like it, and soon enough smartphones and tablets will start ruling the gaming industry.

Recent research claims that tablets and smartphones will soon become main devices for avid computer players to enjoy their gaming experiences. It looks like the smart device will turn into the “primary screen for gamers” in the near future; right now, the allegations seem silly and unattainable, but who can know for sure what will happen 2 years from now?
Mobile gaming is advancing because technology is advancing
Technology is evolving every day and this opens new possibilities for mobile gaming. It is already a huge industry but most of the games are just something people would play to pass their time. However, companies are planning to develop ways of playing computer games on your smartphone though cloud storage. This won’t be an easy undertaking even though the phones today are already powerful enough to play computer games.
There are a lot of short comings when it comes to gaming on a phone, and the most obvious one is the screen size. Your gaming experience will depend on how big your phone is. People with bigger phones will have the best time and people with smallest ones won’t be able to enjoy it at all. Again, this isn’t the only concern.
When it comes to competitive gaming, it’s hard to picture a group of people sitting on a stage playing on their phones. It’s safe to say that it will not reach the competitive stage – at least not yet. But this won’t stop it from being a significant part of someone’s life.
Your smartphone, your lifesaver
If you live two hours away from work like I do, and use public transportation, you’ll have a lot of time on your hands to kill and not a lot of offices allow portable gaming consoles such as the PSP or Nintendo DS. This is where your phone comes in to save the day. There are a lot of games to choose from and they come in all price ranges. If you don’t want to spend a penny then you don’t have to because there are a lot of free games as well. Most games were created to help pass time but some were crafted to capture the gamer’s imagination as well.
Consoles and PCs are only good for games when you’re home. An average working man or woman will rarely get the chance to enjoy games at home. People may argue that laptops are more portable but at the end of the day you can’t really play a lot of games using the track pad alone and even if you manage to master that, then you will still run out of battery power very fast.
Perhaps in the near future we will develop new ways to play games on the go and still maintain a professional lifestyle but until that day comes, smart phones will be the only possible way to enjoy a little downtime.
