Apple's former CEO, John Sculley has finally launched his own smartphone brand called Obi in India. According to CNBC TV18, Obi got a $20 Million funding by a Singapore-based Inflexionpoint company.
Sculley is expecting to sell million units and be profitable within five months. Obi is planning to initially launch smartphone between Rs.5000-Rs.8000 and will have 20 percent margin.
Obi company will be headed by Ajay Sharma, ex-country head of HTC India. The smartphone will be made in China and supply them to Inflexionpoint. Then the Inflexionpoint-owned company called Iris will distribute the smartphone all over the country.
