Once you’ve updated the app, you’ll be able to launch the Google Search app or dive straight into the Google Now launcher and begin a voice search with the “Ok, Google” hotword. Users in the United Kingdom and Canada can now trigger new voice searches with the command “Ok, Google.” </span></span></div> <div style="text-align: left;"> <span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Google Now already tells you to leave for work so you can arrive on time, and it will now do the same thing for your trips to the airport, event and dinner reservations. Based on three customisable metrics – where you’re leaving from, when you want to arrive and your mode of transport – the app can now offer more accurate recommendations for when to head out. Google also added support for reminders in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian) and Russian.</span></span> Other new features in this release include a new Google Now card for the Sochi Olympics, with easy access to medal standings, news and upcoming events. Google’s voice recognition feature now lets you make calls and send texts. Just say “call John” or “send text to my brother” and the app will pull the right contact up for you. If  you have a few John’s in your contacts, it will check who you want to call and if you have multiple numbers, it will ask you about that, too.</div> <div style="text-align: left;"> <span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></span></div> <div style="text-align: left;"> <span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">It’s still possible to trigger this manually by tapping the microphone button in the top left-hand corner of the screen, but true hands-free search is a welcome addition.
