Android Vice President Hugo Barra leaves Google, joins Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi. This post was later confirmed by Hugo Barra in a post on Google+. He is joining Xiaomi as VP.
Barra joined Google back in 2008.
In his Google+ post, Hugo Barra said, ''In a few weeks, I'll be joining the Xiaomi team in China to help them expand their incredible product portfolio and business globally as VP, Xiaomi Global. I'm really looking forward to this new challenge, and am particularly excited about the opportunity to continue to help drive the Android ecosystem.''
At the end Barra thanks top team members of Android Andy Rubin, Sundar Pichai etc.
