Samsung today unveiled its new memory chips of 8 GB LPDDR4 for top of the line smartphones which could offer RAM upto 4GB. Samsung electronics says it has developed first in industry LPDDR4 1 GB chips which can offer 4 chips in a mobile devices to give more memory of 4 GB. Samsung has used a 20nm process to fabricate the 8GB LPDDR4 RAM.
newly developed RAM is also said to be 50 percent faster in terms of performance and consumes 40 percent less energy at 1.1 volts than LPDDR3 RAM. Samsung will start manufacturing the RAM early next year. Analysts are predicting that samsung may use this chip in their upcoming Galaxy flagship smartphone.
