It seems that this year will be of smartphone featuring 64 bit processors. MediaTek has already started on the same. Today company has announced the MT6732 processor which is aimed to provide high end features at minimal cost.
The MT 6732 is a 1.5GHz Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor and supports 64-bit codes. In terms of graphics it has a Mali-T760 graphics unit which supports OpenGL ES visual effects and general-purpose OpenCL computing. This Mali-T760 ARM claims is 4X more power-efficient than the older T600-Series. It has built-In modem of 150Mbps LTE data for connectivity.
MediaTek will be launching this chip starting from third quarter of the year. So we will have to wait till third quarter for the smartphone's running on MediaTek's MT6732 processor .
