eBay-bought Windows Phone shows notification center

<p>You know how it goes, you buy a phone on eBay, and it comes with a developer / pre-release version of a major mobile OS.</p>
<p>The screenshots -- said to be taken from a Nokia 920 -- show Windows Phone 8, but with a few new tweaks and features. Most notable, will likely be the notification panel, but other tidbits include App list ordering based on frequency of use, week view in the calendar and the option to kill apps from the multitask screen. </p>
<p>The phone reports a build number of: 12084.WPMAIN (wpbldlab).20130509-1407 leading some to infer that this version could have been compiled sometime in May. </p>

<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 18px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Nokia just announced its third phone in five days, its new WP8 flagship called Nokia Lumia 925.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 18px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">It's similar to the Lumia 920 and Verizon's <a href="http://www.mobiledoctors.co/search?q=lumia+928">Lumia 928</a> in that it packs an 8.7MP sensor with Optical Image Stabilization and f/2.0 aperture. The flash is a regular LED flash, no xenon here.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 18px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The phone packs three HAAC microphones that record distortion-free sound for the 1080p videos even in loud environments.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 18px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
</div>
<div style="border: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
</div>
<div style="border: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The screen is 4.5" in diagonal and has WXGA resolution – that's 768 x 1280. More importantly it's an AMOLED with ClearBlack and Gorilla Glass 2, instead of an LCD. Unsurprisingly, the Qualcomm chipset of the Lumia 925 packs a dual-core Krait processor at 1.5GHz with 1GB of RAM, which is the best that WP8 currently supports.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #444444;">The phone has an aluminum frame around the side, while the back is polycarbonate. The body is just 8.8mm thick and weighs 135g - much more acceptable than the Lumia 920. Inside it is a 2,000mAh battery, same as the Lumia 920 and Lumia 928. The battery is non-removable and there's no wireless charging out of the box - you can enable that with a thin charging cover.</span><span style="color: #333333; line-height: 23px;">The Nokia Lumia 925 comes with a sleek, metal-finished design, a new AMOLED display to make it possible to view the content from more angles, and new features and advances in our PureView imaging technology for capturing even clearer, sharper pictures.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; line-height: 23px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The design is quite clearly stunning, and in a first for the Lumia range, features metal. The metal frame on the Lumia 925 not only draws attention to the phone’s slim-line good looks, but also lends robustness and functions as an antenna. The polycarbonate body and metal frame are fused together to create a perfect whole.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; line-height: 23px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
</div>
<div style="border: 0px; color: #333333; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">At the heart of the new camera improvements is the next generation of image processing software and the most advanced lens technology to make every shot clear and sharp.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="border: 0px; color: #333333; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">One of the new features is the new Nokia Smart Camera mode that allows you to create the perfect high quality image. Nokia Smart Camera offers an easy way to take ten shots at once and then edit them afterwards with tools and effects like Best Shot, Action Shot and Motion Focus.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: NokiaPureTextRegular, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<img alt="back200" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-121908" height="400" src="http://cdn.conversations.nokia.com.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/back200.jpg" style="background-color: transparent; border: 0px; height: auto; margin: 0px; max-width: 100%; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" width="400" /></div>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="color: #444444; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Nokia preloaded the Lumia 925 with the Smart Camera app - it features several modes including burst mode (10 shots at 5MP), Best Shot (picks the best of the burst), Action Shot (Sequence shot on the HTC One, Drama shot on the Galaxy S4) and Motion focus (adds motion blur to </span><i style="line-height: 18px;">static</i><span style="line-height: 18px;"> objects, as if you're tracking the moving object with the camera). You can also remove moving objects and pick the best face for each person.</span></span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; color: #333333; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As well as updated software, the camera on the Lumia 925 also comes with the most advanced lens technology. Together, the improvements deliver clearer and sharper pictures and video. And allow you to capture the best pictures in the dark. Even better, the imaging software improvements will be made available to existing compatible Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphones in an update called Nokia Lumia Amber, which will be rolling out this summer.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: NokiaPureTextRegular, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">

Nokia Lumia 928 Officially Announced

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
<img alt="Verizon Lumia 928 official launch price" height="400" src="http://c2499022.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Verizon-Lumia-928-official-launch-price.jpg" width="400" /><br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="background-color: white; line-height: 21px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">If you have been waiting for PureView Phase 2 in a lighter package, Nokia just announced <a href="http://www.mobiledoctors.co/search?q=nokia+lumia+928" style="color: #1d7fb4; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none;" target="_self" title="Nokia Lumia 928">Lumia 928</a> for you, as long as you are a Verizon subscriber. The optically stabilized imaging capabilities of the fairly chubby Lumia 920 have now been shoehorned into a more streamlined device, which mimics all the other innovative features of the 920 - the PureMotion HD + display, as well as the three high-performance mics that capture up to 140dB sound without distortion. Not only that, but it adds a <span style="font-weight: bold; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Xenon flash</span> to the LED mix, making it a truly formidable cameraphone.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; line-height: 21px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<div style="line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Nokia and Verizon Wireless have finally announced the Lumia 928 – a new Windows Phone 8 handset that we’ve been seeing around quite a lot lately. So, after all, that <a href="http://www.mobiledoctors.co/2013/04/the-nokia-lumia-story-continues-nokia.html">May 14 event in London will be for another Lumia product</a>.</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As expected, the Lumia 928 will be exclusively sold by Verizon in the US, becoming the carrier’s second Nokia-made WP8 device (after the affordable Lumia 822).</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Like the <a href="http://www.mobiledoctors.co/search?q=nokia+lumia+920">Lumia 920</a> (offered in the US by AT&T), Verizon’s Lumia 928 has an 8.7MP PureView camera with Carl Zeiss lens and OIS (optical image stabilization). The difference is that this new camera comes with Xenon flash instead of a dual-LED one.</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Other features: LTE, global roaming capabilities, NFC, a a 4.5-inch OLED ClearBlack display with Gorilla Glass and 1280 x 768 pixels, Nokia Here (Maps, Drive+, City Lens), Nokia Music, “high-performance microphones that record sound naturally and distortion-free, up to 140db”, 1GB of RAM, 32GB internal memory, 7GB free storage space with SkyDrive, wireless charging capabilities, and a 2,000 mAh battery.</span></div>
<div style="line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Verizon will sell the Nokia Lumia 928 starting May 16, for $99.99 on contract. That’s a great price for such a capable smartphone, and the deal is sweetened even more with a $25 Windows Phone Store credit (as previously rumored).</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 1em; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">

<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 0px; position: relative; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Ifi Majid of Nokia is handling the latest Verizon-exclusive WP8 smartphone and uses the video to highlight some of the phone’s main features. Naturally, one of them is the 8.7MP PureView camera, a first for the platform.<span id="more-48797" style="border: 0px; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"></span></span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 0px; position: relative; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Majid also shares that the Finnish company has put a lot of attention not only to the camera, which packs a Xenon flash, but also to the sound recording capabilities of the phone. As a result, the Lumia 928 packs 3 wide dynamic range microphones to record really great audio.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: HelveticaNeue, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 0px; position: relative; vertical-align: baseline;">

</div>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; padding: 0px; position: relative; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The video is shot on the ‘The Hurricane’ roller coaster in New York through two Lumia 928, one recording the roller coster going around the tracks and one that is on the roller coaster itself. The video then goes on to show comparisons with the other two phones, by freezing the frames at convenient points.<span id="more-48639" style="border: 0px; font-style: inherit; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"></span> I say convenient because the video tends to stop mostly when the other two phones are not doing particularly well and not when the 928 itself isn’t doing so great.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #444444; line-height: 21px;">Admittedly, the 928′s video looks the best of the lot. <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">At first glance the two devices do not have much in common, but of course besides the different shells the two devices are expected to have near identical specs, ie Qualcomm S4 1.5GHz dual core processor, 4.5? octaOLED 1280×768, 1GB RAM 16GB ROM, 8.7Mpx f2.0 OIS, 2000mAh non-removable battery.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This year has been full of plenty of rumours that Verizon plans to release the Lumia 928 to boost its Windows Phone presence, and a new billboard advertising the anticipated device gives us a bit of confirmation -- not that we really needed it.Spotted by My Nokia Blog, the billboard is advertising the un-announced Lumia 928 on Verizon Wireless, not offering much more than a peak at the device and bragging of the "best low-light smartphone camera." It matches what we've seen before from leaks: a plastic Lumia deice that doesn't differ too much from the Nokia Lumia 920 available on AT&T and internationally.Specifications for the Lumia 928 haven't been revealed, but given the specs of the Lumia 920, the Snapdragon S4 1.5Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM, 4G capabilities, 720p 4.5-inch touchscreen display, 32GB of storage and big 2000mAh battery in may make an appearance in the Lumia 928. You can expect Windows Phone 8, of course.The press shot leaked in April confirms that a PureView camera with flash will be present. From what we've seen so far it will ship in both white or black, typical for smartphones these days.It's not exactly clear why the Lumia 928 will have the "best low-light smartphone camera," but we should be hearing more from Verizon and Nokia in the coming days. We've reached out to Verizon in hopes of learning more.</span></div>
