As for other features, a boosted consecutive mode enables 7 fps captures, compared to just over 5 with the older model. There's also a multi-shot noise reduction mode, which we often see on higher-end point-and-shoots, but rarely DSLRs. There's a mic jack, but for better or worse (well, definitely worse), Canon excluded a headphone connector. Additionally, there's no uncompressed HDMI output -- this is definitely a consumer model, despite the performance enhancements.</span><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Tthe new sensor along with a Digic 5+ processor will give a maximum continuous shooting rate of 7fps. The camera will also see an increase in its ISO, which could now be extended up to ISO 25600. However, the new Canon 70D features only three AF point selection mode, viz. Single point AF, Zone AF and 19-Point AF, as compared to Canon 7D, which comes with five AF point selection modes.</span></span><br />

Highlighting the fact that the Nokia Lumia 720 was a flagship beater, we decided to include it in this latest comparison to see if it could trump the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One.</span><br />

The PowerShot N has a 12.1 megapixel sensor, a 2.8-inch tilt type capacitive touch screen and 8x of optical zoom. It costs Rs 20,995.</span></div>

Nikon has launched a number of new cameras in India as a part of its CoolPix consumer oriented range. While the company has essentially revamped most of its cameras under the CoolPix range, it has also released the CoolPix A, which is an entirely new model and has also introduced a number of new cameras the CoolPix P, S, L and AW series’.</div>

The new entrants in the CoolPix P series include the P520 and the P330. The CoolPix P330, on the other hand, has a 12.2-megapixel 1/1.7-inch sensor. Nikon claims such a sensor will reduce noise in images. There is also an updated version of the P7700 and all the cameras in the P range cost between Rs 16,950 and Rs 24,950.</div>

These cameras have built-in Wi-Fi so users can share their images easily. These are basic point and shoot cameras. All cameras in this product category range between Rs 5,950 and Rs 18,950.</div>

The L-series has four new models which include the L820, L320, L28 and the L27. Basically, these are high power prosumer cameras. The L28 on the other hand has a higher megapixel count as it has a 20-megapixel sensor, but scales back on the optical zoom at only 5x. The L27 also only offers 5x of optical zoom and has a 16.1-megapixel sensor. The cameras in the L-series cost between Rs 4,990 and Rs 15,990.</div>

It can also be used in temperatures as low as -10 degrees and it has a 16-megapixel sensor and has 5x optical zoom. It costs Rs 16,950.</div>

Today, Adobe is launching a <a href="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lightroom5/" style="color: #fb4834; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">free public beta for Lightroom 5</a>, and thankfully, that original vision hasn't gone out of focus. There are a few genuinely new and useful editing features, like an improved spot removal tool (now a brush), and a new automated way to straighten your images, but the core editing functionality has been left untouched since Adobe’s big processing engine update last year. But editing isn't everything. This time around, Adobe is adding a new workflow-related feature called Smart Previews, and if your main computer in the field is a MacBook Air, ultrabook, or anything else with a low-capacity SSD, it could totally change how you work with RAW images.</div>

First, a quick diversion. RAW image formats like Nikon’s NEF, Canon’s CR2, and dozens of others contain the unprocessed (or minimally processed) data coming straight off your camera’s sensor. Many pros and amateurs prefer to work with them over JPEGs because even though they take up an obscene amount of disk space, all of that extra image data gives you a lot more flexibility to make changes. As RAW grew in popularity in the early 2000s, Adobe realized that all these different proprietary formats might not be the best choice for archiving images, so in 2004 it announced an open, uncompressed format called DNG, short for "digital negative." It offered most of the benefits of RAW formats, but since it wasn’t tied to any one manufacturer, there were supposed to be fewer worries about it becoming obsolete. It then expanded on the idea with <i>lossy</i> DNG — a compressed format related to JPEG, but optimized to provide as much RAW-like flexibility as possible. So long as you didn’t venture out into extreme regions of the tonal curve (plus or minus four or five stops), it gave you most of the benefit of RAW or uncompressed DNG for a fraction of the disk space.</div>
