LG’s Android Smartwatch Promises "Always on display"

<p dir="ltr"><br>
LG has put up a teaser page for it's Smartwatch - G Watch-operating on the Android system and it will have an "Always On" Display</p>
<p dir="ltr">That’s unlike Samsung’s range of Galaxy Gear watches, which keep the screen turned off until you flick your wrist upwards.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The first difficulty which the makers of the technology may have overcomes is the battery issue;as the battery has to be compact and if the display is used 24/7 the drain of battery is going to be humongous.<br></p>
<p dir="ltr">LG doesn’t explain what technology it’s using for its always-on screen, but a couple possibilities come to mind: It could be a “transflective” display .Another potential option would be Qualcomm’s Mirasol display technology, which can stay on for days in full color.<br></p>
<p dir="ltr">We’ll get some concrete answers in the next two or three months, when LG and Motorola are expected to launch their smartwatches. </p>
<p dir="ltr">LG also said the watch will be water and dust resistant, and will come in both black with a black wrist strap and “champagne gold” with a white strap.</p>

Google has announced Android Wear, a new OS for upcoming wearable technology. The Android Wear is bit more cleaned and simplified version of Android. It is the Nexus of smartwatches.<br />

Android Wear operates with voice commands and reacts accordingly. Say “Ok Google” to ask questions and get stuff done. Android Wear shows you info and suggestions you need, right when you need them. The wide variety of Android applications means you’ll receive the latest posts and updates from your favorite social apps, chats from your preferred messaging apps, notifications from shopping, news and photography apps, and more. It also has some in-build apps to monitor your fitness and exercises.<br />

Korean publication, ET News reports that the South Korean manufacturer plans to release two versions of the alleged Galaxy S5. As per the report, there will be two variants of the Galaxy S5: a premium variant which will sport a metal chassis and a flexible OLED, and a variant which will come with the usual plastic body, as found on other Galaxy smartphones.</div>

Earlier this week, a new set of images purportedly revealing the supposed metal frames of the rumoured Galaxy S5 was spotted online.</div>

Further, the report speculates that Samsung will initially manufacture around 8,00,000 to 1 million units of the alleged Galaxy S5 in January, and will increase the number up to 6 million units in February. Samsung is likely to release the Galaxy S5 in March or April 2014, according to the report.</div>

Sammobile has revealed some of the specifications of the alleged Galaxy S5, with two variants expected to be powered by 64-bit Exynos chipset and Snapdragon chipset (no word on this would be the new Snapdragon 805 chipset. Also expected on board is 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera, a 4000mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top.</div>

Earlier reports had suggested that Samsung's next-generation of high-end smartphones, including the rumoured Galaxy S5, would be equipped with a 16-megapixel camera, but didn't indicate the type of module.</div>
